Ingredients
  

½ cup popcorn kernels

1 tablespoon olive oil or butter

½ cup shredded sharp cheddar (or 2 tablespoons cheddar powder)

1–2 jalapeños (deseeded if desired), finely chopped or 1 tablespoon jalapeño powder

Salt to taste

Optional: garlic powder, onion powder, paprika for extra flavor

Instructions
 

  • Pop the kernels using an air popper or stovetop method and set aside.
  • In a skillet, melt the butter or heat oil over medium heat.
  • Add the chopped jalapeños and sauté for 1–2 minutes to release their flavor.
  • Stir in shredded cheddar (or powder) until melted and combined.
  • Pour the popcorn into the skillet and toss until evenly coated.
  • Let cool slightly before serving for maximum crunch.

Notes

  • Use jalapeño powder for a drier coating and better shelf-life.
  • For a dairy-free version, swap in nutritional yeast and vegan butter.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
